BLACKPINK Lisa’s ‘Money’ debuts on Billboard Hot 100 chart

November 2 ------ K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s Lisa made her way again into the Billboard Hot 100 chart in a little over a month. Billboard announced on Nov. 2 that Lisa’s song “Money” debuted at No. 90 on the Nov. 6-dated Hot 100 chart. “It’s her second career solo entry on the chart, after ‘Lalisa’ in September,” according to Billboard Charts on Twitter.

Lisa had her solo debut when she released her single album “Lalisa” last Sept. 10 containing the tracks “Lalisa” and “Money.” The album sold 736,221 copies in the first week of release from Sept. 10 to 16. The song “Lalisa” debuted at No. 84 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the Sept. 25-dated chart. It also entered for the first time at No. 2 on Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts dated Sept. 25.

Global 200 is based on streaming and sales from more than 200 countries and regions and compiled by MRC Data. The Global Excl. US chart excludes US figures. On the other hand, as of the Oct. 30-dated charts, “Money” has been on Billboard’s Global 200 for six weeks, peaking at No. 10. It is also on the Global Excl. US chart for six weeks, peaking at No. 7. “Lalisa” has also been on the two charts for six weeks. Meanwhile, on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100, “Money” grabbed the 46th spot, higher than its previous 54th, 59th and 81st spots.

According to YG Entertainment, Lisa is the first female K-pop solo artist to place on the chart for four consecutive weeks. Among male and female artists, Lisa reached the record eight years after Psy’s “Gentleman,” the agency said. Lisa’s “Lalisa” music video reached 300 million views in 48 days since it was released on Sept. 10. “This feat was reached in about 48 days after it was released on September 10th. This is also the new shortest record among K-pop female artists that reached the same figure,” said YG Entertainment.
