Binibini urges public to help in contact-tracing system for COVID-19

May 31 ------ Binibini Samantha Bernardo of Palawan City has urged the public to help the government in fighting the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic through the community-driven contact tracing, health condition reporting, and social distancing system.

“We know that we can’t afford to do mass testing as of the moment. So please let’s all be responsible and accountable in helping one another to beat COVID-19,” said Bernardo, one of the candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2020, as she promoted the app “StaySafe PH” on Facebook, dated May 27.

“StaySafe PH” aims to help people track, report, and even identify people with symptoms or those infected with the virus. “This has been approved by Malacañang, National Task Force, Inter-agency Task Force COVID-19, Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Health,” Bernardo said. “We can protect ourselves from COVID-19 by staying at home and maintaining social distance. StaySafe will remind you to keep distance from communities with COVID-19 cases,” she said.

Bernardo added, “We can protect our loved ones by reporting their health conditions without disclosing their identities or sensitive information. StaySafe will also give you tips on what to do when you start experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.” “We can contribute to the national level tracing of COVID-19 by using StaySafe in our own communities,” she also said.

To join, just download the app and register at www.staysafe.ph and stay home. There are now almost one million users of this contact-tracing app.
