Fourteen members of the Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC), were recognized during the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Agency Performance Awards 2005 last January 31, 2006.
The Award of Excellence was given to Baliwag Navigation Inc, Barko International Inc, Hanseatic Shipping Phils Inc, Leonis Navigation Company Inc, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, Naess Shipping Philippines Inc, NYK-FIL Ship Management Inc, Oriental Shipmanagement Company Inc, Philippine Transmarine Carriers Inc.
While the Magsaysay Mitsui OSK, Orophil, Southfield, Ventis and Veritas were recognized as Top Performers.
Exemplary Welfare Programs and Allied Services were given to Magsaysay, NYK-FIL and Oriental Shipping while the Exemplary Technical Capability was granted to Leonis, Magsaysay Maritime Corporatin and NYK-FIL.

Baliwag Navigation Inc is a 100% Filipino-owned corporation involved in a full range of shipping services such as ship owning operation, full technical ship management, crew management, maritime education and training, ship agency and even ship supply was established in Manila in 1972.
Barko International Inc
Established in 1984, Barko International Inc initially opened its doors in ship-manning business to its Japanese-owned commercial vessels in the worldwide trade route. Its mission is to provide safe and efficient services to satisfy principal’s needs at all times, supplying seafarers to meet specific needs of clients, owners and managers of international vessels, tankers, RORO, and vehicle carriers. At present, over 200,000 Filipino seafarers are employed by foreign ship owners on board various international vessels.
Hanseatic Shipping Phils Inc
Since its establishment in 1975, Hanseatic Shipping Philippines Inc is one of the most renowned and leading shipping companies in the Philippines. It built its reputation by providing the utmost customer service to its clientele. The company has resoundingly built its character by accommodating experienced people on board as it continues broadening and expanding its operations and service contributions to maritime transportation. There are approximately 1,250 Hanseatic seafarers on board and another 1,600 seafarers ashore.

Leonis Navigation Co, Inc is managed by a team of professionally-competent executives who are well-trained in the shipping field. Leonis deploys crew to 90 vessels of various types particularly Capesize, Panamav, and Handymax bulkers, PCC, general cargo, log carriers, and reefers.
Magsaysay Maritime Corporation
Magsaysay Maritime Corporation is a company that provides maritime and hospitality human resource to key players in chemical, container, pure carrier, bulk and general cargo operation, as well as cruise operators in Europe, America, and Asia Pacific. It has a combined track record of 50 years in shipping and 35 years in crewing management with a pool of highly competent and dedicated professionals. At present, it has a total workforce of more than 25,000 people of various disciplines, expertise, and skills. In 2005, Magsaysay was a recipient to the Lloyds Maritime Asia Awards as Best Manning agency in the Asia-Pacific region. It is the first Philippine maritime company to ever receive the award.

Established in August 1989, NYK-FIL Ship Management Inc. has emerged as one of the most successful shipmanning companies in the Philippines. It is a joint venture of NYK Line and the Filipino-owned conglomerate Transnational Diversified Group. NYK-FIL, although a relatively young player in the industry, has carved a respectable position as one of the most prestigious manning companies in the Philippines. From its humble beginning of manning eight ships, it now provides crew to 148 vessels of NYK Line, with over 6,000 seafarers under its wings and greatly contributing to the country’s foreign reserves.
