People making list
Buying special gifts
It's time to be kind to one and all
It's that time of year
When good friends are dear
And you wish you could give more than just a present from a store
Giving gifts to your loved ones during Christmas is, I think, the most meaningful way to enjoy the true essence of the season. Sometimes, however, our budget hinders us from doing so. We feel frustrated because much as we want to give all our loved ones, we just can't because our money is not enough. So we end up choosing only the closest people in our lives, and it makes us feel guilty.
To avoid being trapped in this kind of situation, you can follow these seven steps:
Make a shopping list and check it twice. Creating a list will help you avoid last minute purchases for forgotten family members. When you make the list, try to jot down some favorites as well as sizes. This will save quite a bit of time when picking out items to purchase.
Set a budget and stick to it. Be reasonable. Allocate different amounts based on how much you want to spend on each person. For example, you may want to spend more on your cousins and friends than your officemates.
Save. After setting your budget, save money to cover the cost of presents. Saving ahead of time will leave you with money readily available for purchases, keeping you from the hassle of incurring debt on charge cards.
Credit is a no-no. Take only cash with you when you go shopping to avoid impulse purchases.
Shop around. Check sales ads. Visit a number of stores. Comparison-shopping is the only way to ensure you are getting the best price for your purchase.
Start early. By doing this, you can lessen the burden of your pocket. You can start buying months earlier than Christmas so that when December comes, you won't have to spend a big chunk from your salary.
Be creative. You don't have to buy very expensive gifts for your loved ones. Homemade gifts are both inexpensive and unique.
Christmas time gives us the chance to let our loved ones know how grateful we are for having them in our lives even through simple gifts.
Why don't you give love on Christmas day
Even the man who has everything
Would be so happy if you could bring
Him love on Christmas day
No greater gift is there than love
